C o n n e c t i n g
Your FTP program will need to "connect" to your WebSurf account webspace. With WS-FTP, the connect screen will automatically appear upon starting the program. With LeechFTP, After opening the program, go to "File" and then click "Connect."

Your "Connect to" screen will ask for several things. You will need to input three specific pieces of information particular to your WebSurf account.

In the "Host Name" or "Host" Field, you will need to enter either: www.websurf.net or ftp.websurf.net

In the Username field you will need to enter your WebSurf username.Your username is the first part of your WebSurf email address. If, for example, your WebSurf email address is thisisme@websurf.net, then your WebSurf username is thisisme. Make sure you only type in your username and not your entire email address.

Finally, in the Password field, type in your WebSurf password. If you don't remember your password, give us a call at 945-7873 or toll-free at 1-877-329-1671 and we'll refresh your memory.

Once you're connected to WebSurf with your correct username and password, you will need to open the public_html folder and place your web documents inside it. If you cannot find the public_html folder, then you can create one. To make things easiest, the first page that you want your visitors to see should be named index.html

Make sure that your index.html page has hyperlinks to all your other web content.

Now, the address of your webpage on the World Wide Web will be www.websurf.net/~username
